Spiritual Groups

Meeting Christ in Prayeris modeled on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, which is a tried-and-true method of spiritual renewal.  By means of prayer, reflection, and faith sharing, Meeting Christ in Prayer introduces participants to various ways of praying and helps them form regular habits of prayer.

In the Christian tradition Contemplative Prayer is considered to be the pure gift of God.  It is the opening of mind and heart – our whole being to God, the Ultimate Mystery.  Centering Prayer is a method designed to facilitate the development of Contemplative Prayer by preparing our faculties to receive this gift.  It is an attempt to present the teaching of earlier times in an updated form.  Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other kinds of prayers: rather it casts a new light and depth of meaning on them.

This group of men and women has lost a loved one to death. They meet together to share their experience, support each other, and organize activities to lead individuals from bereavement to emergence and hope in learning to live again after the death of a family member.
